About

Cindy Clarkson

I discovered the magic of editing at university thanks to a three year course that focused on the technical – camera, sound and editing.  It was there I was drawn to the constant creative activity of editing and the collaboration with the director.

My aim as an editor is to find the film the director envisioned and together surpass it.

In seeking to tell stories true and fanciful some career highlights are: being a holiday relief film assistant editor for the BBC, cutting my first feature film as picture/sound editor Alkinos Tsilimidos  Everynight…Everynight,  being a dialogue editor on Fred Schepisi’s  Paramount Picture IQ,  editing Australia’s first digital film John Hewitt’s redball,  cutting a US kids fantasy flick with thirty minutes of martial arts Warriors of Virtue 2  Return to Tao to a feature documentary on US skateboard company World Industries The Man Who Souled the World plus independent features Ben Hackworth’s Corroboree, Jonathan auf der Heide’s Van Diemen’s Land and Aaron Wilson’s Canopy that recently had its successful world premiere at Toronto.

To date I have cut 10 feature films and was nominated in the 2013 AACTA Awards for best editing in a feature film for X.
