Floating

Floating is Juliet Porter’s deft film on longing for a child and the tension it generates. A gentle unobtrusive edit was definitely the order of the day. The main character’s internal turmoil would punctuate the cut with moments of energy.
Something that Juliet wanted from the beginning was to take time with the edit. We had ten days for the edit and we spread it over 3 weeks so we had time away from the edit a couple of times to consider the changes. What was great about it was it allowed me to return to the edit with fresh eyes.
